What is an interrogative pronoun?
It is a pronoun that is used to ask a question.
  • When you want to get information, you ask a question and in order to ask a question you need to use that type of pronouns.Determining that pronoun depends on the information you want.

  • There are (Five types) of interrogative pronouns:
Who, whom, which, what, whose
Types of interrogative pronouns
(Who, Whom, Which, What, and Whose)


First: (Who)

It is a pronoun that represents a subject.

Examples:

1). Who is he?
2). Who brought this?
3). Who won the game?
4). Who got the first price?



Second: (Whom) 

 It is a pronoun that represents an object of a verb or object of a preposition.

Examples: Whom did you ask to play?
Whom did you have a fight with?
Whom do you report to?

P.S: In modern, informal, and spoken English we tend to use (who)
instead of (Whom)


Third: (What)

It is a pronoun that is used to ask about something.

Examples:

1). What is your favorite team?
2). What are you doing?
3). What do you do for living?

P.S:
What?
When you have not heard what someone has said and you want them to repeat it, you can say What?, but this is not polite. it is better to say Sorry? or Pardon.
Example:
It's 10 o'clock. "Sorry".



Fourth: (Which)

It is a pronoun that is used  in questions and structures in which there is a fixed or limited set of answers or possibilities)

Examples:

1). Which one of these cars is yours?
2). Which doctor did you see?
3). Which is mine? The smaller one?
4). Which of the desserts did you have?
5). Which of your parents do you feel closer to?



Fifth: (Whose)

I is a pronoun that is used especially in questions when asking about which person owns or is responsible for something:

Examples:

1). I found car keys, whose are they?
2). Whose wallet is this?
3). whose id this dog?
