  • Some important mathematical signs: علامات رياضيه مهمه    


(+): addition    الجمع

This sign is used when you want to add two numbers together, you write it between them. It's called (plus).
For example:
3+5=8.
And you read it that way:
·       Three plus five equals eight.

(=):

This sign is used to show you the result of a calculation like the example above.

 



(_): subtraction     الطرح

This sign is used to show you that the second number should be subtracted from the first. You write it between them.
For example:
20_16=4.
And you read it that way:
·       Twenty minus sixteen equals four.

  (/): division   القسمه

This sign is used to calculate the number of times by which one number fits (exactly) into another.
For example:
28/7=4
You say it like this:
·       Twenty eight divided by seven equals four.



(*): multiplication     الضرب

This sign used when you add a number to itself particular number of times.
For example:
3*8=24
You say it this way:
·       Multiply 3 by 8 is 24.
